Definition
Percentage change in living forest biomass per annum. All living forest biomass is the organic material both above-ground and below-ground, e.g., trees, crops, grasses, tree litter, roots etc. Carbon is one portion of the content of forest biomass; thus a ratio (usually approximately 0.47-.05) is used with this indiator to estimate the carbon storage in living forest biomass.
