Primary forest, expressed in thousand hectares, refers to forest/other wooded land of native species where there are no clearly visible indications of human activities and the ecological processes are not significantly disturbed. Includes areas where collection of non-wood forest products occurs, provided that the human impact is small. Some trees may have been removed.
